Hi everyone! I'm Hsiao-Ting from Taiwan. I'm finally going to Seoul, so excited! 🎉 I've been researching Korean skincare products and beauty treatments lately, but honestly, I'm a bit overwhelmed and unsure what to prioritize.
My skin is quite dry and I occasionally get breakouts, so I'd really like to try some Korean moisturizing treatments or facials. I'm also curious about things like facial devices, but I've only heard about them from friends and haven't tried them myself. Could anyone share some beauty experiences worth trying in Seoul? Or any recommended areas (like Myeongdong or Gangnam)?
Also, I'd like to ask if there's anything I should be particularly careful about when getting a beauty treatment in Korea for the first time? My English is okay, but my Korean is... almost nonexistent 😅 If anyone has been before and could share their experience, I'd be so grateful!

Hi Xiaoting! I'm also planning to go to Seoul to experience the beauty services, so I feel the same way as you 😊 I see you have the same dry skin condition as me, so I'm also researching moisturizing treatments there. I was thinking of asking on the forum if anyone has any experiences with beauty services in Seoul, because I don't know where to start 🥹
Oh, I totally get the overwhelm feeling! I was in the same boat when I first came here — there's just so much available that it's hard to know where to start. My advice would be to maybe do a consultation first somewhere to talk about your dry skin and concerns, just so you know what would actually work for you instead of trying random things. And yeah, definitely see if you can find a place with English-speaking staff or bring a translation app for your phone, it really helps with explaining what you want! 😊
Hey Xiaoting! That's so exciting that you're going to Seoul soon! Just curious—have you had any facials or skin treatments done before in Taiwan, or would this be your first time trying anything like that? I'm wondering if that might help you figure out what to start with 😊
