Hey everyone! So I'm finally planning my trip to Seoul in a couple months and I'm trying to figure out the logistics. I know a lot of people go to Gangnam or Apgujeong for aesthetic stuff, but honestly I'm not sure which area would be better for me or if there are other neighborhoods I should be looking at too.
I'm mostly interested in exploring options and seeing what's available, but I don't want to stay somewhere random and end up spending hours on the subway every day. Does anyone have experience staying in different areas while getting treatments done? Like, is it worth booking accommodation right in Gangnam itself, or are there other pockets of Seoul that are just as good but maybe less touristy or expensive? I'm a solo traveler so vibe matters to me too lol.
Also curious—did you guys find certain neighborhoods had better English support or felt more foreigner-friendly? I'm not fluent in Korean so that's a real concern. Any recommendations on where other international visitors have had good experiences would be so helpful! TIA 💕

I went to Seoul alone last time too. I found that while staying near Gangnam was convenient, Myeongdong and Hongdae were also quite tourist-friendly, and the subway was very convenient! There might be more English speakers in Gangnam, but I found that as long as you use Google Translate and point to your phone for the shop assistants, most people are happy to help 😄 I suggest you decide which areas you want to visit first, so you can choose a more central location and save a lot of commuting time.
