Hi everyone! So I've been seriously considering getting a procedure done and I keep going back and forth between doing it locally here in the US versus making the trip to Korea. I know Korea has amazing clinics and the whole experience seems so well-organized, but I'm also nervous about traveling right after a procedure and being so far from my regular doctor.
Has anyone else been in this situation? I'd love to hear how you made the decision. Like, what made you choose Korea over staying home, or vice versa? I'm curious about the actual logistics too—like did you feel safe traveling after, or did you build in extra time there to recover? I'm also honestly not sure if the cost difference would even be that significant once I factor in flights and accommodation, so any real talk about that would help.
I think part of me wants the Korea experience and the reputation of the clinics there, but the other part is worried I'm romanticizing it or being unrealistic. Would love to hear your honest thoughts!

I struggled with this issue too! My advice is to stay in Korea for a few more days if possible. This way, if you have any problems during recovery, you can go directly to the hospital without having to contact the doctor from a distance, which will give you peace of mind. While you do need to carefully calculate the costs of airfare and hotels, I think it's worth the expense for direct communication and peace of mind.
I understand your concerns because I'm in the same situation. Personally, I'm considering going to Korea because I've heard the post-operative care system is excellent and the overall cost might not be much more expensive than in Thailand. However, I'm still hesitant about the long flight and the need to follow up with the doctor. 😅 I hope someone who has been through this before can share their real-life experience.
I understand how you feel! I was in the same situation and struggled with it, and in the end I decided to have the procedure in Japan, but honestly, it's difficult to balance your longing for Korea with reality. I felt that having a supportive environment where you can get follow-up care after the procedure and easily consult someone if any problems arise makes a huge difference in your peace of mind.
I've struggled with this issue too! I think the biggest concerns are post-operative follow-up and distance. After all, if you experience any discomfort or need a follow-up appointment in Korea, it's really difficult to get things done quickly. However, I've also seen some women stay in Korea for an extra week or two after their surgery before returning home. Having a doctor overseeing them during recovery definitely provides peace of mind.
