I'm tired of always wearing long sleeves to cover up the scars on my arms, so this year I'm looking into surgery for self-harm scars.
I heard that laser treatment isn't effective because the wounds and scars are old.
Many places I consulted gave up on the idea, and since I'm wondering if surgery might be a better option, I'm planning to go to a hospital that focuses specifically on the scars.
However, getting surgery for self-harm scars won't cover them up completely, right?
I heard that with laser treatment, you just have to accept that they will be somewhat noticeable.
I've also heard that deep self-harm scars like mine aren't common, so treating them would be difficult.
Is there really no other way?

Covering it up with surgery inevitably leaves a mark that looks like a burn, but I heard that everyone gets the surgery because it’s better than self-harm scars. My younger sibling also thought about it a lot before finally getting the surgery.
Where did you get it? Did it leave a lot of marks?
My younger sibling also had a very deep scar and was told it was difficult, but they got it done at Chan & Lee. Still, it has faded a lot now, so you can barely see it from a distance, and these days they even wear short sleeves.

If it is a scratch scar, it is considered an incision scar; unless it is deep enough to require surgery, it can be sufficiently improved with a laser.
