Hey! I'm Nora, just found this community and I'm already obsessed. I'm from California and honestly, I stumbled into K-beauty completely by accident like two years ago when a coworker lent me her sunscreen, and now I'm that person with way too many sheet masks under my sink lol.
I've always been curious about skincare but never felt like American brands were really *it* for me, you know? Then I started watching Korean content on YouTube and got totally drawn into how seriously people take their skin there—like it's actually self-care, not just vanity. The ingredient lists, the texture innovations, all of it just made sense to me.
That said, I'm also really interested in the aesthetic treatment side of things. I keep seeing posts about people getting procedures done in Korea and I'm curious what the experience is actually like, especially as a foreigner. Has anyone here had treatments done while visiting? I'm not looking to do anything major, just exploring what's out there and what people's honest thoughts are.
Looking forward to chatting with you all and learning! 💕

Welcome, Nora! I got hooked on K-beauty in a similar way 😄 I totally get the sheet mask rabbit hole. Personally, I feel like skincare in Korea is really thorough, so maybe it's a good idea to focus on building a solid foundation before considering treatments. I've visited a few times myself, and it seems like the results of treatments can really vary depending on your skin's condition. If you have any questions, I think everyone here will kindly answer them, so don't hesitate to ask 🌸
Hello Nora! Your experience sounds so similar to mine! 😆 I also discovered how meticulous skincare can be after watching Korean beauty videos. It seems like there isn't that same "sense of ritual" in the US. I'm also planning to try some treatments next time I go to Seoul, but honestly, I'm a bit apprehensive as a foreigner and would love to hear about everyone's actual experiences!
Hello Nora! Your story is amazing, I also fell in love with K-beauty starting with skincare products borrowed from a friend 😄 I'm also considering trying out some treatments next time I go to Korea, so I'm super eager to know the answers to your questions too! Hope the sisters here can share some real experiences, let's learn together~
