Hey everyone! So I'm planning my first trip to Seoul specifically for a beauty/aesthetic focus, and I'm kind of overwhelmed by all the options. I keep hearing about Gangnam and Apgujeong obviously, but I'm wondering if those are actually the best neighborhoods to base myself in, or if I'm just thinking that because they're hyped?
Like, are most of the places clustered in those areas, or are there other neighborhoods that are equally good but maybe less touristy or easier to navigate as a foreigner? I want to be somewhere with good energy and maybe some cafes or shopping nearby, but I'm also trying to be smart about my budget. Does anyone have favorite areas they've stayed in during their beauty trips?
Also — how important is it to stay super close to wherever you're getting treatments done? I know Seoul's subway is amazing, so I'm wondering if I'm overthinking it. Would love to hear from other foreigners who've done this! Any tips on neighborhoods that felt welcoming or easy to get around in would be so helpful. 💕

But what do you think about the distance between accommodation and attractions – how much does it really matter? I'm not sure if I should book something close by, or just go with what fits my budget. Or, as you mentioned, is the subway system so good that I don't need to worry about it? 😊
Honestly, the subway is so good that I didn't feel like I had to stay super close to where I was getting stuff done — I stayed in a neighborhood that felt more like a real neighborhood (less touristy) and it was fine getting around. Plus my accommodation was way cheaper and had better cafes nearby, which made the whole trip feel less stressful!
This is my first time getting beauty treatments in Seoul too, so I totally understand your concerns! I later found out that the subway is actually super convenient, so you don't necessarily have to stay right next to the clinic. I chose to stay in a relatively quiet area, and it only takes about 10 minutes by subway each time. This actually helped me avoid the super crowded tourist areas. Plus, there are cafes and small shops nearby, which made me feel much better during my breaks 😊
