Hi everyone, I'm Na, and I'm planning a beauty trip to Seoul in the second half of this year. I've heard that Gangnam and Apgujeong have a high concentration of medical aesthetics clinics, but I'm completely unfamiliar with the geography of Seoul. I'd like to ask you all, if I were to stay in Seoul for 5-7 days focusing on beauty treatments, would staying in Gangnam District be more convenient? Or is the Apgujeong area also good?
I'm mainly interested in experiencing some common skin management treatments and possibly some minor adjustments, but I haven't fully decided on what to do yet. So, I'm particularly concerned about the transportation and accommodation options around these two areas, as well as the density of medical aesthetics clinics. Has anyone had beauty treatments done here? Would you choose to stay within the medical aesthetics area, or stay elsewhere and take the subway?
Also, I'd like to ask, are there any things foreigners need to know in advance when getting beauty treatments in Seoul? Will language communication be an issue? I'm really looking forward to hearing everyone's real experiences and advice!

The last time I went to Seoul, I also stayed in Gangnam. I found the subway transportation very convenient, so I didn't have to worry about routes. My suggestion is to stay nearby to save a lot of time, as traveling back and forth can be quite tiring. You can compare the prices of guesthouses and hotels to see which is more cost-effective!
When I first went to Xi'an, I stayed near the subway station because I wanted convenience for travel rather than staying in an area with many clinics. Plus, it allowed me to explore other parts of Xi'an! Regarding the language, I found that many places had decent English communication, but it might be good to prepare by looking up phrases or translating some vocabulary beforehand.
Oh I'm actually planning something really similar for later this year! From what I've heard from other people, staying in that general area does make things more convenient since you can hit multiple places without as much commute time, but honestly I'm still figuring out the logistics myself. Have you thought about checking out some of the foreigner-friendly info blogs yet? I feel like that's where I'm getting the best tips on navigating the whole experience as a non-Korean speaker.
I also went to Seoul last month and visited both Gangnam and Apgujeong. Honestly, since they're only about a 5-minute subway ride apart, I felt like it didn't really make much of a difference where you stayed 😅 However, Gangnam does have more accommodation and cafe options, so if you're staying for a longer period, you might not get bored if you stay closer to Gangnam. As for language, it's good to have a simple translation app installed beforehand for peace of mind!
Hi Na, I'm also planning a trip to Seoul, but I'm wondering if, for my first visit, I should book accommodation near areas with many beauty spots or stay elsewhere and use the subway? Have you looked into the accommodation costs in Gangnam and Apgujeong? Is there a big difference?
