Hi everyone! I'm planning a trip to Korea soon and I'm really interested in getting some aesthetic consultations while I'm there. But honestly, I'm nervous about the language barrier and not knowing which clinics are actually trustworthy vs. just tourist traps, you know?
I've been scrolling through forums and getting a bit overwhelmed with all the options. For those of you who've gone through this as a foreigner—how did you actually find your clinic? Did you go through a specific platform, ask for recommendations, or just walk in somewhere? And how important was it to you to have an interpreter or English-speaking staff? I'm not fluent in Korean, so I'm wondering if that's a dealbreaker.
Also, what should I actually be checking during a consultation? Like, red flags to watch out for? I want to feel confident and comfortable, not rushed or pressured into anything. Has anyone had a good experience with a clinic that really took time to explain things and didn't just try to sell you everything? Would love to hear your honest thoughts!

I totally get the language anxiety — I had the same worry! Honestly, I found it really helpful to write down my questions in Korean beforehand (or use Google Translate) and bring them printed out to my consultations. The staff really appreciated the effort, and it made me feel more in control of the conversation. Also, I noticed the places that took time to explain things without pushing me toward procedures felt way more trustworthy, so definitely ask questions and see how they respond!
Aku setuju banget soal language barrier yang bikin panik! Waktu aku ke sana, aku coba cari yang punya staff yang bisa bahasa Inggris atau minimal mereka sabar jelasin pakai Google Translate—itu bener-bener membantu buat komunikasi yang lebih santai. Dari pengalaman teman-teman juga, konsultasi yang bagus itu yang mereka dengarkan apa yang kamu mau, nggak langsung push treatment tertentu, jadi jangan ragu tanya banyak di awal dan lihat gimana response mereka! 😊
