Hello, I'm Dana from Dubai and I'm seriously considering traveling to Seoul for eyelid surgery. Honestly, I'm a bit hesitant—the idea sounds good, but I don't know if it's really worth the cost, time, and time off work. I've heard that prices in Korea are much cheaper than here, but when you add the cost of flights and hotel, maybe there isn't a huge difference?
What also worries me is the post-operative care and follow-up—if anything happens, I won't be able to see the doctor as easily as I would here. I've also heard there are good clinics in Dubai, but I don't know if the experience and specialization in Seoul are actually better than here.
Has anyone here made this decision before? How did you decide if it was worth traveling for? And approximately how long will it take before I can go home and return to my normal routine?

I had the same dilemma when I flew there from Beijing last time. I later realized the key is to allow enough recovery time and not rush back, otherwise flying can really slow down the swelling. My advice is to allow a few extra days and not just think about returning home as quickly as possible; this will help the post-operative results be more stable!
I completely understand how you feel, Dana! I was struggling with the same thing. In the end, the cost of airfare and hotel is much higher than you might imagine, and there's also the risk of not being able to have your post-operative recovery checked by a local doctor. I ultimately decided to make my decision based on whether or not they could provide proper remote aftercare. I think it's really important to be able to easily get checked out if you have any concerns.
