Is it okay to receive visits from acquaintances or gifts (flowers, fruit, home-cooked meals) after being discharged?
Please let me know about the risks of injury, infection, and allergies; precautions and etiquette regarding packaging, storage, and direct delivery; and questions to ask the hospital. I would also appreciate it if you could share your actual experiences and phrases for refusing.

Immediately after discharge, due to the patient's immune system and wound condition, please check with the hospital beforehand regarding flowers or food. For visits, keep it brief, wear a mask, and if possible, give a gift remotely for the safety of the moment.
It is safe to say, "I am recovering, so I will accept food or a visit a little later. Thank you so much for your thought."

In particular, if you have a weakened immune system or wounds, avoid flowers and fruit with soil on them; food must be sealed, refrigerated, and checked for allergies.
When declining, it was safe to say, "I am recovering, so I should be careful with visits and food for the time being; I will just accept your thought."
